Research tasters
TLRP tasters
The materials in this section suggest ways of applying research insights in practical classroom settings. Produced by CUREE, they draw on TLRP projects and other research findings. They are structured by Andrew Pollard's handbook, readings and website on 'reflective teaching' (see http://www.rtweb.info/). The resources are likely to be of particular interest to those teaching in, or training for, formal school settings. In due course, it is hoped to provide more specific materials in relation to early years, further, higher and adult education. http://www.tlrp.org/pa/
RfT Research tasters
Practical and accessible nuggets of reliable research for you to apply to your practice (http://www.gtce.org.uk/teachers/rft/bfl_res_tasters/). They cover the following topics:
TRIPS Research Bites
Research Bites are 90-second Power-point presentations with summaries of key research for practitioners to share among colleagues and at staff meetings. Each bite consists of 10-20 slides, and is designed to provide clear and accessible examples of interventions which improve learning and teaching. Topics include supporting classroom talk, teaching and learning in maths, pupil voice. CUREE produces these bites as part of a major project for the DCSF.
Some examples of research Bites can be downloaded here:

More Bites are published on the Teachernet website here.
FE Tasters
There are resources here for colleagues working in Further Education, 14-19 Education, Work Based Learning, Adult and Community Learning and Offender Learning.
Research Tasters are designed to support practitioners in evidence-informed enquiries into key aspects of professional practice. LSIS and TLRP are proud to offer one hundred Research Tasters as a free, easily accessible public resource. These have been specially created by CUREE, drawing on the work of the Teaching and Learning Research Programme and other relevant sources.
Each Research Taster:
- Highlights a research finding or insight of practical relevance
- Suggests a reflective activity for gathering evidence
- Suggests implications for further exploration
- Provides selected web-links to further information
