NTRP - National Teacher Research Panel
The NTRP is an independent group of approx. 20 practising school teachers and head teachers with research expertise who work to promote teacher involvement in research, support quality in practice-based research and to encourage partnership between teachers and researchers.
Philippa Cordingley has been Professional Advisor to the Panel since its inception in 1999. Since November 2004 she and her colleagues have widened their role, with CUREE now being both the professional and administrative driving force behind the Panel. CUREE's role is to support the NTRP in order to help them to develop a strategic plan and to achieve their goals.
The NTRP is hosting and presenting their 5th national conference at the NEC in Birmingham on Monday 29th November 2010.
This year the NTRP is focusing on the critical role that engaging in and with research can play in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Narrowing the Gap (NtG) in achievement for vulnerable young people, so in addition to engaging in the usual wide range of lively practitioner enquiry you will be able to explore these issues in depth.
Find out more by looking at the conference flyer. Admission to the conference is free but will be by invitation only. To register for a place please email your name and contact details to: kirsty.bond@curee.co.uk
You can find out more information about the panel and download teacher research summaries from previous conferences by visiting the NTRP website.
For more information about teachers conducting research see the Guardian article called: Research: Teachers turned academics.
The Department for Education’s website, where the NTRP site is housed, is currently undergoing a major re-structure. This means the NTRP website is unfortunately unavailable at the moment.
